Hello everyone!
Charlene Johnson suffered a house fire a few days ago. Charlene was also treated for smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning from the smoke as she was trying to rescue her sleeping granddaughter and pets. Her granddaughter did safely make it out of the house, as well as their pets. Her kitchen was destroyed, and the rest of the house was completely consumed with black smoke and soot, including all the A/C ducts. They are trying to find temporary housing, but this has been difficult with having several dogs.
We need to rally around Charlene as she is ALWAYS the first person to jump in and help ANYONE in need. She spends most of her days volunteering for numerous organizations within the Manatee & Sarasota community, selflessly. She also arranges numerous volunteer opportunities and assists in philanthropy projects for a women's group (BAGS-Beautifully Aging Girlfriends) in which she is the Director of Community Outreach.
Please let's show her that she has our support in return.
Physically, there is nothing anyone can do to help. The house has been emptied, and professional cleaning and remediation will begin. They have no kitchen but do have a small microwave they have been using to cook prepackaged foods. They have one small refrigerator & freezer in the garage, but they are a family of 6, which includes their 2 grandchildren and 6 rescue dogs.
Here is how we can help. This GoFundMe will assist with immediate needs and replacements of clothing, food, furniture, etc. They do have insurance, but as we all know, there are deductibles, and it does not always cover immediate or all needs. This can potentially be a financial burden on her and her family.
She does everything for our community and volunteers regularly & tirelessly for MANY non-profits in Manatee & Sarasota Counties. She deserves to be taken care of during this time of HER NEEDS. Any amount helps and will go a long way.
Let's show her the LOVE that she freely shows others on a daily basis. Please share on your Facebook pages and get this fundraiser blazing across Facebook!
Thank you so very much!
