Rally for Chad's Family After Setbacks

Donation protected
My family has hit a rough spot over the last couple of years. It started when my husband, Chad, was in a car accident in October of 2023. The accident was not his fault. He was stopped on the freeway in traffic and was rear-ended by an elderly driver who was not paying attention. Our vehicle, which we had just paid off, was totaled, and Chad was left out of work for almost a year due to his injuries to his back and brain. The traumatic brain injury affected him greatly. It was the main cause of his inability to return to work at the time. He underwent treatments for nearly a year and did make some progress. All this time, we were barely making it. We are a family of five, with three children now ages 14, 10, and 6. Our whole family was deeply impacted by the whole ordeal. We lost our vehicle, nearly lost our home, and other things along the way. We were forced to settle for an amount far less than we should have in order to pay our rent for the months we were behind (our landlord worked out a deal with us). So ultimately, we were left without any extra. Additionally, this took a year to come full circle.

Fast forward to now, and we are finding ourselves in a situation again. Chad had started a great job and we were on track to finally get ahead. He was let go from that job shortly after an audit was completed and passed with flying colors. Ultimately, they brought him on to get them through the audit, but then let him and three others go right after so they could hire people with less experience at a lower salary. He has been searching for a job within his field since and having a very hard time. With the government as it is right now, and all of the unknowns within the food industry, places are hesitant to hire.

I work for a non-profit animal welfare agency, so I don't bring in a ton of money. But I love my job. I'm helping animals, and that is what keeps me going.

We are confident he will have a job within the next month, but we are struggling to pay our rent for May. I didn't want to do this, but once you get desperate, you sometimes need to reach out of your comfort zone. I know there are many people out there struggling. I would love to be able to pay it forward to them someday. But right now, my family really needs help. If you are able, and can in any way relate or empathize with our situation, please help us. Your kindness will absolutely be paid forward once we are back on our feet.
