Help Bud Heal: Support Jerold "Bud" Weyer’s Recovery Journey
Hello, my name is Ashley — one of the many lucky people who met Bud and instantly became family. If you know Jerold “Bud” Weyer, then you know what I mean when I say he’s the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and his last ten bucks without hesitation. He’s a giver, a protector, a father, a son, a brother, a cousin, an uncle and a friend to so many of us.
This past Saturday, June 28th, 2025, Bud’s life changed in an instant. He was in a devastating motorcycle accident and had to be life-flighted to Sioux Falls for emergency surgery. The injuries he sustained are severe and heartbreaking:
* He underwent a double craniotomy due to swelling and bleeding in his brain
* His orbital socket is fractured completely and will require reconstructive plastic surgery
* He will need to relearn how to speak, walk, and perform basic motor functions
* Metal plates and screws are now replacing parts of his skull that had to be removed
Bud is now facing a long, painful road to recovery — one that will involve multiple surgeries, intensive physical therapy, and months (if not years) of rehabilitation. And all of this is happening while he’s unable to work and still trying to raise his two beautiful children.
To make matters even more difficult, Bud does not have insurance. The weight of mounting medical bills, future surgeries, and the cost of daily living is overwhelming. That’s why I’m reaching out — not just as a friend, but as someone who knows how deeply Bud has touched the lives of others.
This is our chance to give back to someone who has always given so much.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, please know that every single dollar will go directly toward Bud’s hospital bills and recovery expenses. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page — your support in any form means the world.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with Bud and helping to carry him through this unimaginable time. Let’s show him the same love and generosity he’s always shown the rest of us.
With gratitude, Ashley, The Family, and the Brothers at Rigid Steel LEMC
