Hi, my name is Hugh Brown. I'm a friend of Brian Copple. As you may know, his mother has recently passed. After recovering from his own serious health issues, he had taken time out of his life to care for her at the end of hers. While most admirable, this has left him in a precarious situation. He is lacking funds and time to transition from a caregiver to an independent person.
We are on a mission to raise funds to help him move and settle into a place as he looks for a job. Losing your mama is a hard enough thing to transition through. The thought of being destitute at age 61 and processing grief at the same time is unfathomable.
His mother's home, where he lived with her, will be transferred to the reverse mortgage lender on approximately March 10th, and he needs to line up a place by then.
He wants to move from the Tulsa Metro back to his hometown of Ponca City, where housing is less expensive, and he still has many friends who reside there.
We would like to raise 1/3 of the target within 60 days, 1/3 within the following quarter, and the balance by Thanksgiving, so he can have a proper holiday. Of course, as the money is raised, I will be updating everyone of Brian's progress.
I, personally, didn't meet Brian until 11th grade at PoHi. We had Civics together for one year. Some years later, I stumbled upon him at Chandler Park in Tulsa. Some years after that, we ran into each other at a public swimming pool. We never ran together. We moved in different circles.
We became Facebook friends, and a few months later, as fate would have it, he was trying to croak from liver failure. But the old tomcat bounced back, and was soon back to living.
Brian is an absolutely authentic human being, an empathic, caring soul, with sharp wit and a pleasant sense of humor. I love the old cuss. Many of you know him a lot better than I do, which is why I'm confident we can aid him in this his time of need.
Thank you so much.
