Hi, I’m Audrie. I’m reaching out today for my dear friends Brian Adams and his partner, Jennifer, who are facing an unimaginable tragedy.

Brian came into my life through Jen, who has been caring for my little boy, Oliver, since he was just six months old. When my wife—Oliver’s biological mother—passed away, Jen and Brian were there every day, helping us navigate the darkest period of our lives. They became part of our chosen family, and Oliver lovingly calls them “Unka Jen and Unka Byron.” Their support made the past two years bearable, filling a void that words alone can’t capture.

Now, they are the ones in need of support.

Brian is currently fighting for his life in the hospital due to a severe case of sepsis from an unknown infection. Within just 18 hours, Brian went from feeling a bit tired to undergoing emergency surgery to amputate his arm to save his life. Tragically, he may face further amputations, and his chances of survival are only around 50%.

Alongside him through every painful moment is Jen, his devoted partner. But as they both fight this battle, the financial burden is becoming overwhelming. Here’s how your support can help ease their path forward:

• Immediate Medical Costs: Intensive care, emergency surgeries, and life-saving treatments come with tremendous costs. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are overwhelming.
• Rehabilitation and Mobility: Brian’s recovery will require extensive rehabilitation, and if further amputations are necessary, he will need specialized prosthetics that can cost up to $50,000 each, along with adaptive equipment to help him regain independence.
• Home Modifications: To make their home accessible and safe, modifications like ramps, widened doorways, and bathroom adjustments will be essential. These changes alone could total tens of thousands of dollars.
• Lost Income and Daily Living Support: Brian’s ability to return to work is uncertain, and Jen may need to take time off to care for him. Funds raised will help cover their living expenses, allowing them to focus on recovery.

For those who know Brian and Jen, you know how deeply they care for others. They’ve been there for so many of us providing support without question or hesitation. Now, they need our help to navigate this devastating journey.

Please consider making a donation, sharing this page, or simply sending positive thoughts and lots of love their way. Every bit of support will help give them strength and light as they face the difficult road ahead.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, your generosity, and for standing with Brian and Jen in their time of need.
