At one time, Brandi was a spry and tenacious Advanced EMT. Her love of the job was apparent when she became the manager of Larimore Ambulance and Rescue Service in 2016, a job she wanted since she became an EMT in 2001. Unfortunately, it was short-lived. In July of 2019, Brandi had a large flare-up of Neurosarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease that attacks any organ at any time. It deposits granulomas which damage whatever organ is involved. For Brandi, this was her brain. It caused her to develop Hydrocephalus. She required emergency surgery to place a VP Shunt to drain the fluid off her brain. Since then, Brandi became disabled and had to give up her job that she loved so much. She has been fighting for her life ever since.
Brandi spent a month in the hospital in January 2025 with COVID Pneumonia. She was in a medically induced coma for 2 weeks. We almost lost her, but she fought and made it through. Now she's hospitalized again because she developed an abscess on the VP Shunt tubing in her abdomen. She has been in the hospital since June 30th. She is fighting, yet again, for her life against this infection. When she gets home, she will be dependent on family and Carson to take care of her. She helped so many people in her career; she deserves our help now. Her insurance pays for most of her care, but she is required to pay a co-share. With all of her hospitalizations and emergency visits, the bills are beginning to pile up. She cannot continue to pay for these bills on her own anymore. Please consider helping her pay for all of her medical care. Any amount will help. Thank you and God bless you all!
