Rally for Bo Choi: A Mom's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
My name is Stacia Mueller and I want to share my friend, Bo Choi’s, story of faith, strength, and courage. I have come to know Bo as a friend through meeting her at her business, Orange Cleaners, in Mooresville, NC, where we met 8 years ago. Bo is a hardworking, single mom and the sole provider for her and her 3 children. Her two oldest, 22 and 18 years old, are in college, and her youngest, 16 years old, is in high school. They have no family around to help with support. The last few years have been difficult and so much to bear. After several years of Bo’s husband being unfaithful during their marriage, Bo’s husband chose to leave Bo and their 3 children in 2018 when he left the country unannounced. To date, there has not been any communication from him. Raising and supporting children on your own is difficult enough without all the unexpected events that no one should have to endure. Running a business and providing on a limited income, and not having healthcare the last several years as it became too expensive for a self-employed single mom. In 2021, she was diagnosed with colon cancer, which spread to her uterus. She had surgery in September of 2021 to remove some of the cancer. To date, Bo has seen 6 doctors, 3 oncologists, and has been through countless treatments and medical evaluations with several rounds of chemo. She has always amazed those around her because she continued to work every day, even when she wasn’t feeling well during the treatments. She worked hard every day, continually showing and sharing the strongest faith and hope in a mighty way! She recently had a PET scan and bloodwork. She received the results and despite all the different treatments and chemo sessions, the cancer is growing, and they can no longer do anything with this current treatment. Her numbers have increased substantially as well. The doctor referred her to another surgeon and just discovered that surgery will not be an option because her numbers are too high and there is a strong possibility that the cancer has reached other organs. The doctors are discussing other possibilities or drug testing. She has had those that were once strangers, originally customers, and now friends that have been by her side through surgeries and helping her watch her business while she had to have her treatments on Monday mornings. There have been prayers over her at her business and at her church throughout this journey! She is a blessing to so many!
The financial burden is high and the need for financial provision is much. The medical bills as well as living expenses from the business lease, mortgage payment, utilities, fuel, and living essentials like food, and Bo has carried a wonderful attitude with great faith and hope, and she is impacting those around her! Her children, her friends, her customers, and the community see it!
Please join me in prayer for Bo and her children and all the details… healing, peace, faith, hope, and financial provision. If you are in a position to donate with the financial burden, they would be so grateful! Please help me bless this sweet lady and her children with our prayers and gifts!
