I’m reaching out on behalf of an incredible woman and dear friend, Bethany Gates—a single mom with unwavering faith, phenomenal nurse, and an irreplaceable part of her community—who recently experienced a traumatic accident that has changed her life.

Bethany was on her first real vacation with her beloved son, KJ, when the unimaginable happened. While enjoying time near a cliffside, the slippery ground unexpectedly gave way beneath her, causing her to fall more than 12 feet. She was rushed to the hospital as a trauma alert, where doctors confirmed she had suffered severe leg fractures and a tailbone fracture.

While we are incredibly grateful that her injuries aren’t worse, the road ahead is long and difficult. Bethany faces an extended recovery, rehabilitation, and an uncertain timeline for getting back to work. As a single mom, she not only has to manage her own healing but also continue caring for her son.

Bethany is one of the most giving, selfless people you could ever meet. As a nurse, she has dedicated her life to taking care of others. Now it's our turn to help take care of her.
