Rally for Beth: Battling Cancer's Return

Hi friends —

This is Sarah, and I’m writing with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit.

Two and a half years ago, my sister Beth was diagnosed with two types of breast cancer. She fought with everything she had — going through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and radiation — all with the goal of saving her life and being there for her two beautiful daughters and our family. She has received various types of treatment since then to try and keep the cancer from returning.

Recently, we received the devastating news that Beth’s cancer has returned to her liver and spine. While I’m not ready to share every detail, what I can tell you is that this time it’s stage four metastatic cancer. We are still awaiting results from a biopsy and additional scans to better understand where the cancer may have spread and what her prognosis might be.

To say that our family is heartbroken would be an understatement. But even in our grief and fear, we are holding onto so much hope. We are surrounding Beth with love, strength, and support — and now I’m reaching out for help.

Over the past couple of years, Beth and her husband have poured their financial assets and energy into paying for medical treatment. She has never once asked for anything, and if I’m being honest, she’ll probably be annoyed at me for creating this (I am her sneaky little sister, after all). But the truth is, the bills are piling up again — and what she needs more than anything right now is to focus on her health, not her finances.

I’m reaching out to friends, family, and to the incredible community who follows and supports me online — if you feel moved to give, no matter how small, we would be endlessly grateful. Every dollar will go directly toward Beth’s medical expenses, transportation to appointments, and helping her family stay afloat while she focuses on fighting for her life again.

We are praying — deeply — that she will have many more years with us. That she’ll get to see her girls grow up. That she’ll feel surrounded by love and held up by a community that cares.
