Rally for B3's Road to Recovery x2
Donation protected
UPDATE as of 4/2:
So we are back at the hospital again. We’ll be here until Monday morning and then we go home. We are upstairs in the room now getting settled in. They’re going to start chemo on him very soon. He has I believe two medicines every day for the next five days to take for the treatment. Each medicine is a half an hour long so it’s a quick treatment. His hemoglobin was a little low, so the nurse said he might need a transfusion at some point while we’re here. He will also get updated scan also while we’re here to see what’s going on with the tumors since he started chemo. St. Jude got back to us and they said that the clinical trial drug they wanted to try on William, it’s for a different phase, more serious situation so William doesn’t qualify for it and they said pretty much the regimen/treatment he’s on now will be the same one St. Jude will be giving him so St. Jude said right now the best thing to do is let him stay at the hospital where he’s been doing his treatments and continue it until the end. He’s on his third cycle this week and he has 10 total cycles total in the treatment. As long as there are no complication or delays, he should finish his last treatment end of August this year.
UPDATE as of 3/16:
The outpouring on LOVE and gifts that William has received has not gone unnoticed. He smiles with every package that arrives and looks forward to wearing his new hats now! He just finished up his second treatment cycle and is back home where he belongs. Jen and Billy are working round the clock to care for him, keep Sarah attending all she can and loves, and working off one salary. Jen is home to care for William has he continues to battle this awful disease. If you can donate to help them have to worry just a little less, it is greatly appreciated. They couldn’t be more thankful for everyone rallying for their son.
UPDATE as of 2/21:
He started the chemo two days ago and today will be his last day for this cycle and they have to keep him hydrated for the next 24 hours so Monday, he gets one shot and then he will be discharged to go home. We come back March 12th to be admitted for three days and he does it three days with the chemo again and the shot and he goes home again and it’s pretty much every 21 days. The medicine and number of days he’s admitted will change on and off, but I believe he will do that for at least 11 to 12 months. Once the tumor has shrunk enough to where his stomach is not distended, I would like to take him to St. Jude to do the clinical trial and then we’ll be going back-and-forth from the clinical trial drug back down to the hospital for chemo until all of this is over. So far, he’s been good with the chemo, but of course, there could be delayed reactions/side effects. The first day with chemo, two days ago, he felt really nauseous and very, very tired and out of it, but then he was good again and yesterday he was ok, just a little tired and today they start the chemo at 5 PM. He only does two medicines today, one for two hours and the other for four hours and then he’s done for the night
For all that don't know, B3's last treatment was December 26th and they were supposed to do his scans in February (this month) but a couple of weeks ago, B3 was complaining about stomach pains so Jenn took him to the hospital where they live in Fla.
They did an ultrasound and CT scans and found out he has three new tumors, on the opposite side of where he was originally diagnosed with the large tumor.
One tumor is 6 cm, the other one is 4 cm, and the last one was even smaller than that, in millimeters. The 6 cm tumor is on his liver and the 4 cm tumor is in the spleen and the smallest one is around the diaphragm area. Jenn is in the process of trying to get qualified for St. Jude and have B3s treatment be transferred where she and B3 will stay separate from the rest of their family.
Will continue to update here and also check out https://www.caringbridge.org/ for further updates on B3's journey!
This Gofundme was started for a young son of an old time Saddle Brook friend, Billy Schneider and his beautiful family.
For all that don't know, Jennifer and Billy's son not only had a 14cm cancerous tumor removed, but his kidney and parts of his liver were taken from his little body a couple weeks ago.
After the tumor was removed, it was then discovered the tumor actually ruptured and B3 will need chemo for about 6-8 months along with radiation. The cancer was diagnosed at stage 3 and named a Wilms tumor.
B3 is now in the chemo stages of recovery and currently on his second round.
Please help spread the word about this little warrior and consider donating to the Schneider family!
The last thing this family needs to be worrying about right now, is putting food on the table, growing medical bills and gas to get to treatments.
Let’s rally behind this family during this long, trying road to recovery!
Every donation, big or small makes a difference!!
All funds will go directly to B3's medial needs, bills, etc.
