On Tuesday, February 25, a driver ran a red light, slamming into the driver side of my aunt Laure's car after she left work. Fortunately, she was rushed into emergency surgery in time to repair a vein in her stomach that was causing internal bleeding. Her bowel was lacerated & small intestine detached. The doctors were able to stop the bleeding and re-attach everything. She’s heavily sedated; but still in a ton of pain. She has multiple broken ribs and her left lung ended up collapsing, so they also had to insert a chest tube and she is currently intubated & on a ventilator. Her incision has been open since last night just in case there are any complications, plus they will be doing a second surgery tomorrow. She has multiple tubes in her belly draining blood, and a VERY LONG road to recovery. She will not be working during this time but will still have bills to pay... please consider donating what ever you can to help her through this recovery!
