A Call to Support Our Local Legend, April Brooks

For over 25 years, April Brooks has been the heart and soul of our Fort Myers community. As a pioneering derby girl, acclaimed nail technician, and tireless advocate for countless worthy causes, April has selflessly devoted herself to making our town a more vibrant, inclusive, and compassionate place.

Whether it was helping neighbors recover from hurricane devastation, mentoring at-risk youth, or opening her home to provide Thanksgiving meals for those with nowhere else to go, April has always been one of the first to lend a hand. Her larger-than-life personality, unwavering kindness, and fierce commitment to supporting the underdog are truly inspirational.

Sadly, April now finds herself in a time of great personal crisis. Her brother is battling diabetes and kidney complications and her elderly mother has suffered a stroke, leaving April thousands of miles from her Fort Myers home to provide around-the-clock care. As a self-employed nail technician, April has no paid time off and is now faced with the daunting task of packing up her life to move back to Oklahoma indefinitely.

This is where we, the community April has given so much to, must come together to support her in her time of need. The funds raised here will help April settle her affairs in Fort Myers, cover the costs of her move, and provide a much-needed cushion as she navigates this unimaginably difficult transition.

April has spent decades as the beating heart of our town, always putting the needs of others before her own. Now it's our turn to show up for her.
