My name is Kristen and I am Angie’s step-daughter. I am raising funds to assist my dad, David, and Angie with their medical bills while Angie goes through chemotherapy.
On Wednesday, February 5th, Angie was diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma with macro metastasis to the lymph nodes. Those aren’t words that anyone wants to hear, especially when it was an incidental finding.
Angie had quickly gotten a port placed that quickly became infected in April after her first dose of chemo.. Therefore, the port had to be removed. Yet again, more bad news.
Fast forward to April 12th, she is unable to get chemo AGAIN because her ANC wasn’t recovering. Angie has yet to get a full dose of chemotherapy and no answers were coming in her direction. On May 14th, I headed with her to get a second opinion at Avera McKennan and many answers later, she made the decision to switch doctors. That same day, Angie was started on daily injections to try and boost her ANC so she would be able to get chemo the following Tuesday.
Tuesday, May 20th, Angie went into the clinic to get her labs done and FINALLY got some good news. Her ANC jumped to 1.8 Angie was able to have her PICC line placed and start premeds for chemotherapy!! Once again, however, if something is going to happen, its going to happen to Angie (as she always says.) The nurses started the titration on her chemo. Once they finished with the titration and chemo was running at the normal rate, Angie had a reaction within 53mls of administration Her blood pressure jumped to 216/110, feeling flushed, chest tightness. Therefore, chemo was held and they are going to try again today.
We are PRAYING and PRAYING that things go well and she is able to get her chemo.
With all of this, the financial burden is taking an effect of the both of them. When Angie was first starting all of this, her chemo cycles were going to be every 3 weeks and she would be able to work on the weeks that she didn’t get chemo. However, having to switch Doctors and the chemo regimen, she has to get chemo every week and is now it is unknown if she will get to work during this or if she will even be well enough to work.
Angie and my dad do not know about this fundraiser. So the plan is to pay off their medical bills with this and give them whatever is left to assist with paying bills.
If you can donate, we all appreciate it! If you can’t, we just ask for many prayers Feel free to leave some words of encouragement below as the page will get released to them! Angie would love to hear all the kind words from you all
