The new year brought devastating news for Al and his family. On New Year's Eve, Al was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Delta Gamma T-Cell Lymphoma. This cancer attacks the immune system and is known for its rapid growth and resistance to standard chemotherapy treatments. It also causes painful skin lesions across the body, adding another layer of difficulty to this already challenging diagnosis.

Al first noticed symptoms in October 2024, experiencing painful skin lesions, significant weight loss, persistent fever, and overwhelming fatigue. Despite numerous doctor's visits, emergency room trips, and tests, the cause remained a mystery for months. Even a bone marrow biopsy failed to provide answers. Finally, through the determined efforts of his dermatologist and a careful pathology review, the heartbreaking truth was revealed: Gamma Delta T-Cell Lymphoma.

This isn't Al's first battle with cancer. In 2022, shortly after his 50th birthday, he faced stage 3 colon cancer. After a grueling year of treatment, he achieved remission. Now, he and his family are facing another uphill battle, both physically and financially.

The medical bills, hospital stays, and the traveling to a specialized cancer center like Moffit in Tampa for treatment create a significant financial burden. Al will be unable to work for an unknown period, adding to the stress and uncertainty.
