On the evening of Thursday, June 11, 2026, the beautiful building housing Abington Christian Academy was struck by lightning during a severe thunderstorm. The lightning strike caused a fire in the bell tower, resulting in extensive smoke and water damage throughout the building. By God's grace, the building was not a total loss, and we are thankful that our landlord will be able to rebuild. However, many classrooms and learning spaces have been impacted. While some desks, cabinets, and educational materials may be salvaged, many items have been damaged beyond repair.

As a small classical Christian school, we rely on the generosity of our community. Unfortunately, many of the items essential to operating our school are not covered by insurance. These include internet equipment and extenders, televisions, projectors, phones, printers, security cameras, communication devices such as walkie-talkies, technology equipment, and other resources necessary for the daily operation of our school.

Abington Christian Academy may be small, but we are mighty because we serve a mighty God. Our prayer is that our community will rally together to help us replace these critical items so we can prepare our classrooms and welcome students back for the start of the new school year in September. If God places it on your heart to give, no gift is too small. Every donation will help us move one step closer to reopening our doors and continuing our mission of providing a classical education to the families we serve. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers. Please pray for wisdom as we navigate the rebuilding process, for provision for every need, and for strength and encouragement for our staff, students, and families.
