Rally Behind Theresa

Hello, my name is Theresa Kennedy-Capps. As most of you know, a few months ago I found out I have Cervical Cancer.  What was supposed to be a 7-8 week process has turned into an 10 week process. The 4 1/2 weeks I thought was left left to fight, has now turned 6 more weeks. The last two weeks are going to be used for Internet Radiation. When I asked the Doctor if it was going to hurt he said, "We’ll talk about it when we cross that bridge". Translation;Yes. Yes, it going to be very painful.

Basically, everything that could go wrong is going wrong.

This isn’t my first rodeo when it comes to being sick. At the age of 15 I had my first Liver Transplant. Since then I’ve had two additional Liver Transplants and a Kidney Transplant. There was a Board Meeting to discuss what was the best and safest treatment for me. Unfortunately, I learned last Thursday that my Red Blood Cell count was very low. I am now having to receive blood transfusions. I also found out that my White Blood Cell count was high. This was the reason why I had my first transplant. They are also giving me shots to "Squish" my bones together to stop my white cells from attacking my bone marrow. (PAINFUL) To make a long story short, my body is attacking itself. My Liver numbers are high, (NOT good), and my Kidney function is not doing well either. All of my doctors are scrambling around to change my medications, and I'm praying that they know what they are doing.
The reason I am starting this "Go Fund Me" page is because my mom and I are waking up every morning at 4:30, to leave by 5:30, to sit in traffic for 1.5-2 hours from La Habra to UCLA. After going from building to building for all of my treatments and appts. we are back on the freeway for another 2 hours. I look into my mom's eyes when we get home and I see how exhausted she is and I am also feel painfully exhausted. I feel like Bill Murray in the worst possible version of "Groundhog Day". Every day is the same thing over and over again.
What we would like to do is stay at a hotel or an AirBNB so that I may receive the much needed rest I am not getting.   What is preventing us from doing this is, UCLA is surrounded by cities like Bel Aire, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Brentwood, Santa Monica Beach, and is in Westwood. I.E. it’s very expensive.

I am not one to ask for financial assistance, even when things get rough. However, with everything going ever which way but up, I am asking my friends and family to help give me a boost with my medical conditions and my living expenses during these next 6 weeks. I love all of you, and any assistance, be it sharing this page or donating, will be greatly appreciated.
