Bring Big Daddy home!!
“Please make sure Grandma & Papa's trash is taken out for the next couple of days" is the words that came from him, while in ICU and just days after suffering a stroke.
That is just the kind of person Don Alan Lynn is! The one who is always there for all of us and making sure his family and friends are taken care of!
On October 9th at approximately 2:30pm I got a call that Don had suffered a stroke while at work. In a total state of panic, I immediately started trying to get ahold of anyone who may have any information about his current condition. After getting in touch with his sister in law and then his dad, I learned that Don was in stable condition, but unable to move his left side at all. The next few days were filled with prayers and just trying to understand what this would mean for Don in the days, weeks and months ahead.
Less than a week in ICU and he was being transferred to a rehabilitation hospital and that brings us to where he is currently. He has speech therapy once a day and physical therapy twice a day. We have all noticed an improvement in his speech! He still has quite a ways to go as far as physically regaining movement in his left side. Many days he is pretty sore, but we are so thankful that he is working so hard to get there and are all very proud of him!
Ways that you can help Don Alan (Big Daddy) while he is in recovery:
1. Donations: We are unsure how long it will be before Don has any income coming in again for his bills and living expenses. His insurance is also something that has to be kept up to date so that he can continue his rehabilitation and any other care/medications etc that he will need. In addition bills are starting to come in for the parts that insurance is not covering. He has started to mention the financial aspect of everything here in the last couple of weeks and I just keep reminding him that we need him to focus on his recovery! ❤️
2. Be part of Don’s cheer team!!
As with anything that brings upon an abrupt big change in our day to day life, sometimes we just need to know we have people behind us cheering us on! Please send us your words of encouragement for Don Alan, along with (without is okay too) a photo of you or your family! We will include it in his support team album that we are making for him to look at during the moments when he needs it most!
3. Most of all we are asking for prayers for continued strength and healing for Don! Prayers for all of his family and friends who are learning how to best help him through this challenging time.
4. Please share this go fund me for him! Let's get his story out there and build his cheer team!! Please also keep an eye out for his page that I will be creating soon to share even more updates on his progress along with special days like his Birthday that will be here in less than two weeks!
Thank y'all for all of the love and prayers you are sending Don Alan’s way!!! It means so much to all of us! ❤️
