FLIS family in need of community support

Dear FLIS family and friends,
Many of you may know Ms. Nancy. Ms. Nancy is a huge pillar of our school community. She began working at FLIS in 2008 as a preschool teacher and in less than a year, became the Preschool Director, a title that she still holds to this date. Ms. Nancy has seen FLIS flourish from a tiny preschool with just 4 classrooms to the wonderful place it is today and has been instrumental in meeting all of FLIS’s important milestones over the past decade. Ms. Nancy lives at home with her husband and two children. Ms. Angie, Ms. Nancy’s daughter, is also employed at FLIS as one of our two-year-old teachers. As you can imagine, Ms. Nancy’s family is OUR family. Ms. Nancy, her husband, and children are all extremely hard working and caring individuals, always finding ways to support others in times of need.
On Monday, January 5th, Mr. Luis Gonzalez, Ms. Nancy’s husband, had a work accident when working with a grinder, causing severe damage to both of his hands. This led him to be rushed to the hospital, where he later underwent a 5-hour long surgery to have reconstructive work done to both of his hands. The severity of the accident has resulted in what doctors advise will be a 6-month long recovery process, in addition to having his right hand completely immobilized for the next 6 weeks, and having little use of his left hand due to the injuries sustained.
We are so thankful that despite his accident, he now finds himself at home and doing well. Nonetheless, as you can imagine, being that he sustained injuries to both of his hands, he will need constant support at home for daily tasks as he recovers. While his family works together to figure out the best solution, it is evident that they will undergo some financial strain mainly due to missed work not only by Mr. Gonzalez himself, but by those that will care for him during this time.
As you know, here at FLIS we are all FAMILY. We want to rally behind Ms. Nancy and show her how she and her family have all of FLIS's love and support and how we will continue to root for them.
All money raised will help provide Ms. Nancy and her family with more financial relief, by aiding in covering recovery expenses and helping contrast any loss of additional income Luis would normally receive from independent work opportunities.
Anything that you find in your heart to give and help this wonderful family will be tremendously appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your cooperation and love shown towards our FLIS family.
