Meet Xyola

Hi, I’m Molly, and Jane Stock, Niki Welde and I are hosting this gofundme for our young friend, Xyola Holm. We would love for Xyola to exceed her financial, personal, and professional potential in life despite numerous setbacks and challenges.

I met Xyola through her spitfire grandma who raised her, my friend Tiny Macheel, when Xyola was 7 years old. She had started attending Wednesday school at Federated Church. Like her grandma, Xyola loves animals! We have celebrated life’s milestones together (and she kicks my butt in cribbage). Through the years, Xyola has endured 8 major surgeries and is expecting more in the future due to her complicated medical disorders including XLH (X-linked hypophosphatemia) and EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome).

Overcoming Obstacles

Despite surgeries and chronic pain, Xyola has been attending college for Public Health, works multiple jobs in healthcare, and has responsibility as the caretaker of her grandma’s home since she passed in 2022. Now 21 years old, Xyola accepted an Americorps job recently in Colorado for a year. This is a fantastic opportunity for Xyola to apply her life experience and coursework, grow her professional skills, and experience life in another part of the country. She plans to work an additional job so she can pay her living expenses in Colorado and her part of the house payment back home in Fergus Falls. I greatly admire her maturity, perseverance, and her passion to help others with disabilities. I just know her grandma's spirit is cheering her on!

An Invitation

We would like to invite you to join us in helping Xyola get on her feet and fly into young adulthood in the absence of her Grandma Tiny who so cherished her. We would love to see our community of Fergus Falls and others rally around Xyola. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
