Earlier this year, Jessica received news that we all fear— she was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) breast cancer.

Jess has always been incredibly proactive about her health, and because of her diligence, the cancer was caught during her yearly mammogram. ILC is known to be difficult to detect because it often doesn’t appear the way typical breast cancers do on imaging. By the grace of God, hers was found early, and doctors were able to create a treatment plan.

That plan now requires Jessica to undergo a double mastectomy with reconstruction, which will be performed at Mercy Hospital.

Anyone who knows Jess knows how strong she is. She is the person who shows up when someone needs help, who gives without hesitation, and who would quite literally give the shirt off her back for someone else. But even the strongest people shouldn’t have to face something like this alone.

Over the coming months, Jess will be focusing on surgery, recovery, and healing. During that time, the financial strain from medical bills, time away from work, and everyday life expenses can quickly add up. This fundraiser was created to help ease that burden and allow Jessica, Mike, and Maddox to focus on what matters most — her health and her family.

As if this season wasn’t already heavy enough, Mike and Jess are also processing the recent serious diagnoses of close family members which has really piled on the stress and anxiety.
