Hi, my name is Adam and I'm creating this fundraiser for my best buddy, Jamie Rick.

Just when life should have been about family, holidays, and looking toward the future, everything changed in an instant.

Right before Christmas, Jamie was getting ready to head to the airport to spend the holidays with loved ones. Out of nowhere, his femur completely shattered. What he thought was a freak accident turned into something much worse. After emergency surgery and countless tests, he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, an aggressive and life changing form of blood cancer that deteriorates the bones.

In a matter of days his world flipped upside down.

Instead of celebrating Christmas with his family, he was lying in a hospital bed learning he now faces chemotherapy, radiation, major treatments, and soon, stem cell transplant. Instead of playing golf and spending time with family, he's now planning how to survive cancer.

If you know Jamie, you know how unfair this feels. He's one of the most positive, kindest, hardest working people you'll ever meet. The type of guy who would literally give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice. He's always been there for others. Now he needs us!

The medical reality is overwhelming. The hospital bills are already ginormous, and this is only the beginning. Very soon he will begin traveling out of state to begin stem cell procedures. That means:

-Ongoing hospital stays

-Expensive treatments and medications

-Traveling and lodging cost

-Lost income from being unable to work

-Everyday living expenses that don’t stop just because cancer shows up

No one plans financially for something like this.

Right now, Jamie's only job should be to fight this cancer with everything he’s got, but the crushing financial burden makes an already terrifying situation even heavier.
