The cancer has already spread, and our family has been trying to process this heartbreaking diagnosis while figuring out how to get her the care she needs. At the time all of this happened, we did not have health insurance. Because of that, the hospital stay, tests, imaging, and emergency care from her broken hip left us with over $71,000 in medical bills out of pocket before we could even begin focusing on what came next. Thankfully, we were able to get insurance coverage starting March 1st, which would have helped with treatment moving forward.
However, after much strength and reflection, our mom decided to not do chemotherapy and is now receiving hospice care. Our focus has shifted to making sure she is comfortable, surrounded by love, and at peace during this time. Because of this, our fundraiser has also changed. any support helps lift that weight so we can focus on being present with her. If you know our mom, you know she is the kind of person who gives endlessly to others. She is strong, loving, faith-filled, and the heart of our family. Watching her walk through this with grace has been both inspiring and deeply painful. Every donation, no matter the size, truly means the world to us. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page and keeping my mom in your prayers would mean just as much. We are leaning on faith during this time and holding onto the promise: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during one of the hardest seasons our family has ever faced.
With gratitude,
Gae & family ❤️
