My name is Nikki Murray and I am lucky enough to call Amber Lea Jodaitis my best friend.
If you’ve ever encountered Amber, you can feel the love and energy she exudes instantly. She is the first person on the dance floor and the person most likely asking the band to play ‘one more!’
She is the smiling face that makes anyone feel welcome in any setting. She is a free spirit, who always sees the bright side. No matter what, she continues to make the most of whatever life happens to throw at her. She is resiliency.
Unfortunately, at the age of 34, she has recently been diagnosed with clinical Stage 2 Breast Cancer. The same horrible disease that her mother, April, lost her life to in 2004. Amber is the person who manages to contend with any circumstance. Now, more than ever, she needs us to rally around her.
Amber will be having a bilateral mastectomy on 3/3. This will include weekly doctor’s appointments leading up to the surgery, two months estimated recovery time, followed by her plan of care which could range an additional 4-8 months.
She is a private nanny, so she, unfortunately, does not have the luxury of paid time off (the last thing she should have to worry about). To ensure that she can focus on her health and nothing else, I ask you to please help donate anything you can. Your donation will go toward the various expenses that may arise, including additional medical care, support during this transition and covering household-related expenses.
I know she is loved by so many, stretching far and wide from her hometown in Massachusetts to the beautiful life she has built for herself in California. Please share this to spread the love so we can come together for our girl.
In true “Same Team” spirit, please consider donating to help her while she focuses on her health. To know her is truly to love her. If you or a loved one have been affected by cancer, please make a donation in their honor.
If you would prefer to donate directly, her Venmo handle is: @Amber-Jodaitis
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
