On October 9, 2018, 5 year old Rustin was with his Grandmother when he became ill with nausea & vomiting. She later noticed his skin color was changing to blueish and with Rustin's history of heart issues, having had heart surgery when he was a baby, Mom quickly rushed him to the St. Louis hospital where his cardiologist was. Once they arrived, he coded twice and the wonderful team there was able to resuscitate him.
These past 8 days have been a roller coaster ride for Rustin and his family. Their home is in Ilinois and Rustin has been in ICU in St. Louis since his admission having been on life support until yesterday. He continues to be on dialysis and the Dr's are worried about his kidney function and additionally he has poor circulation in one of his little legs so they are monitoring that closely. The Doctors still do not know why this has happened.
I can only imagine how difficult this has been on everyone on an emotional level. There are many, many prayers being said for this little man across the country. If we could all pull together and help to ease the financial burdens that are no doubt facing this family. The medical bills, living away from home, missed time from work would weigh heavily on any of us, secondary to the worry for Rustin. If we can ease this part of their burden it could enable them to be with Rustin through his long recovery. No donation is too small . . . if we all give a little, then together we can accomplish a lot at easing this part of their journey. If you are unable to give, that is okay also. Please join us in prayer for a full and complete recovery for Rustin. His big brother Reed wants him back home, as does everyone who loves and cares for him.
"Father, we are praying for this precious one of Your's, Rustin. You want him to have a long life (Ps 91) and you heal us from all sickness and pain (Ps 103) and by whose stripes we are healed (Is 53, 1 Peter 2:24). We cast all our care upon You for You care for this little soul (1 Peter 5:7). There are plans You have for him to accomplish. He was created for this hour on earth.
Satan, we bind you and cause you to cease from your actions against this child. We remove your strategies and work and call it cast to the ground. You have no power over this child of God.
