Raksha's Secret Graduation Gift

Donation protected

Driven by immense self-effort and with astounding grace;
Raksha Boiteau will graduate on May 29, with a Written Arts Major from the prestigious BARD COLLEGE.

Hi! I am Raksha's mom. I want to give this brilliant coming-of-age woman the gift of confidence as she leaps into her adult-life. She has never known financial security and she is now in a position where she will have to make it on her own. After all of her hard work reaching this mind-blowing milestone, I wish, as her proud and doting mom, that I could stuff a bunch of cash into a little pink envelope with a note that says, "use wisely, enjoy fully."

Alas, I'm a late bloomer. I've got lots of hugs, creativity, spontaneity, perspective, rocks, books, poems, a dash of chaos, and a few odd skills to pass on, but extra dollars are still...a work-in-progress.

Can you help me stuff the envelope??

Raksha has been raised on many wings and many prayers; her own personal drive, and the tear-jerking generosity of friends and family that have formed a circle of protection around the entirety of her life. Now she gets to find her own way, breaking cycles and beginning new ones.

If you have a few dollars (or a bunch) to help me strew across the starting line, and congratulate her beating the odds... Or if you have no dollars, but a few words of encouragement, a blessing, or all of the above; I invite you to take full advantage of this website and leave them here. If you prefer to send something snail mail... send me an email and I will send you an address.

I am going to try to keep this a surprise that will be presented to Raksha on the day of her commencement, so please don't mention it to her (or tag her in a social media related share) until on or after the 29th of May.

With all of my mama bear heart, I thank you for your touch upon our lives.

*After a little summer fun, Raksha's current plan is to move to Brooklyn, NY with two of her friends and get a job under the bright lights of the big city—doing something, with or for, someone or something.
