Raksha's fight against Osteosarcoma

Hi, My name is Nicole. This GoFundMe is for one of my furbabies, Raksha. She is a 6-year-old Giant Alaskan Malamute.

She was diagnosed yesterday with Osteosarcoma in one of her hind legs. Thankfully she is a candidate for surgery but they will need to amputate as soon as possible to lower the risk of her cancer spreading.

She still has so much life left in her, as I'm writing this I just watched her chase her brother across the backyard on 3 legs.

She is our first baby, anyone with a pet will understand they are more family to us sometimes than most people. We are not willing to give up on her yet, for her, her brother Akela, us, and our 2-year-old daughter Aryja who loves her so much.

She has a long road ahead of her, along with the amputation, there will be possible chemo and every 3 month follow-up scans.

UPDATE 6/15/23, 5pm

Raksha is home from surgery! Groggy and in pain, but she is doing well!

Her leg and tumor weighed in at 7.8 lbs, they are sending the tumor, along with her lymph node from that leg to pathology, we should be getting the results from the lymph node in 7-10 days and the report for the tumor in 2-3 weeks.

They say the first 3 days are going to be the worst so please send all the healing vibes any prayers her way!
