Rajan Karki Parkinson Surgery Fund

Donation protected
This is my friend Rajan Karki from Nepal.

How we met:

I met him in Kathmandu, it was my first time traveling solo to Asia, I was nervous arriving late at night and I was lucky to have Rajan waiting for me. He welcomed me with the traditional scarf "khata" that they wrap around your neck and a big smile. He is a happy, chill guy and a very kind person, always ready to help.

I had the opportunity to meet his beautiful wife and his 2 girls, Rabina (12) and Sakun (9). Little Jon (4) was born years later. Rajan's  family welcomed me into their home with a delicious Nepali traditional meal that they cooked for me while I played with the girls. They received me as family and opened their home and heart to me. These are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet!

Rajan's story:

Rajan works with his partner Dipu organizing tours and taking tourists trekking through the beautiful Himalayas. His work is very much physical and his livelihood depends on having a healthy body.

4 years ago Rajan was diagnosed with Parkinson disease. He's been on medications since, and his partner Dipu has taken care of the trekking tours.
But lately his condition has worsen to the point that it's difficult for him to walk and medicines have no effect on his trembles.
His only option to get better, be able to work and care for his family is a brain surgery called Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) that costs about USD 20,000.

With Covid lockdowns and no tourists going to Nepal, his business is making no money and he cannot afford the surgery. He can barely buy medicines and put food on the table for his family.

He needs to get surgery ASAP. I have copies of the doctor's diagnosis and recommendation. You can reach out to me if you need any more info.

Asking your help:

I'm making this GoFundMe fundraising since it's not possible from Nepal.
All the money raised will be sent by me to Rajan via bank transfer.
Anything helps, whatever you can give is welcome.

Please help me help him.

To help get the word out, you can share the link to your Facebook Timeline.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and
from Rajan and his family!
Namaste
