Rajah Weaver-Bey Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that we announce our beloved brother,
Rajah "Raji" Lewis Weaver-Bey, passed away in Las Vegas, on December 24th, 2018 from complications due to his long and painful battle with alcoholism. Those familiar with this aweful disease, are aware that it not only affects the person suffering, but the lives of their friends and family as well.
Anyone who knew Raj, whether since childhood or those whom have met him more recently, know that he was someone who loved to laugh out loud, had a big heart and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was truly a people person and made friends wherever he went. I will miss this about him the most. We know his spirit lives on and the memories we've all created with Raj, will never be forgotten.
The hardest part is coming to grips with preparing
the arrangements to give Raj a memorial tribute fitting for someone who touched so many lives.
He will be cremated in Las Vegas and his remains will be sent home to the place where he grew up in Bloomfield Connecticut.
We plan to hold the memorial service at The First Cathedral in Bloomfield, CT. The repass will be held at the American Legion on Main Street in Hartford, CT. The date and time of the services will be announced in the coming weeks. We will post the memorial service details on Facebook and also disseminate the information through email and text messages.
Many friends & family members who love Raj have asked the question, "How can I help?" In lieu of flowers and gift baskets, we are kindly accepting any contributions through this GoFundMe page, to help offset the expense of bringing Raj home and giving him a memorial tribute of which we can all be proud. After the expenses are paid, any remaining funds will go to Rajah's surviving children, Parris and Rajah "LJ" Weaver-Bey.
A small portion will also be donated to the CRI Help facility in North Hollywood, where Rajah sought help for his addiction on two separate occasions before he passed. I witnessed first hand, the positive results and their dedication in helping Raj fight his addiction during a time when he needed it most.
Any donation received, big or small, is greatly appreciated.
On behalf of our family, THANK YOU! all from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughts, prayers and well-wishes.
Kevin & Terrence Weaver-Bey
