Raising support for Paul McAuley

Paul is a 39 year old fun loving, caring and giving man. Paul's life has been turned upside down through no fault of his own.

Paul had been at his Christmas party in December 2024 when he left early and was on his way home due to work commitments. He was viciously attacked, beaten and robbed from behind with no chance to defend himself.

Paul sustained life threatening injuries and was left fighting for his life in Beaumont Hospital. Paul remained in a critical condition, in a coma and on life support for a number of weeks. He had 2 life saving surgeries and he subsequently had a ventriculostomy to drain fluid from his brain. He also had to have a craniectomy and a number of other serious surgical interventions.

Paul’s chances of survival were very slim and he was living day to day. Through Paul's resilience and the support he received from everyone at his bedside, along with the overwhelming love and help of his partner, family, friends and colleagues, Paul has come through the toughest part of his journey.

Paul now faces a long road ahead of extensive Rehabilitation which includes Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy.

He needs as much support as we can give him so that he has the best opportunity to make the fullest recovery possible.

Paul has spent his entire life helping others. He has always been there for friends and family in their times of need and he's always supported, protected and served the communities he's worked in.
