Rayland was born on 9-19-2012 with an extremely rare terminal genetic disorder called Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata type 1. Respiratory illnesses are hard on his little body and usually land him in the hospital for weeks at a time. As you can imagine, that takes a toll on me physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. I am a single mom and have another healthy child as well who is almost 11. I work full time and I am also a full time college student trying to work my way to Nurse Practitioner. I am not one to ask for help, I try to figure things out the best way I can without feeling like a burden to others, however, it’s been brought to my attention over the last few months that I’m running myself into the ground trying to keep up with everything. When he’s sick and in the hospital I miss a lot of work, and it gets really hard. Admitting you need help is really hard. Rayland spent the first three weeks of October of this year in the hospital. He’s getting sick again. Likely another cold but he can’t fight off colds like we can, he struggles so bad and we land in the hospital. I don’t expect anyone to donate, I appreciate anyone who does, and can’t put into words the stress it would take off of me and allow me some breathing room. Prayers are always appreciated. You can follow him on Facebook also. Hope for Rhizokids Team Rayland
