Raising necessary funds for GPA Greek Schools

The Greek Parents Association  (GPA) was established in 1952 by the Cypriot poet Tefkros Anthias and a small group of Cypriot immigrants. Today the GPA has under its umbrella Greek Schools in Southgate, Finchley, Palmers Green/Wood Green, Goffs Oak/Cheshunt, Chingford, and Gants Hill/Ilford.

The income from school fees usually covers about 80% of the expenditure and the remainder is covered by fundraising events organised centrally and by each school committee. The situation has been exacerbated further by the additional costs in sanitising and in ensuring COVID-19 safety measures and procedures are fully maintained.

With the current pandemic in 2020 and going into 2021, most fundraising events cannot take place and are unlikely to take place for the foreseeable future. All school committees are organising new ways of fundraising but to ensure the financial stability of our schools, we need you to assist, if you can, by donating an amount.  All help is appreciated no matter how small it is, it all adds up.

We are confident that with your assistance the work that had began 68 years ago can continue to the benefit of our community’s children and of future generations.
