Digswell Place Riding for the Disabled has been a massive part of our lives for over 10 years. It provides a safe and welcoming environment for disabled people of all ages to go and experience the wonderful world of equine, from pony care to horse riding.

Louise was a coach there for many years and got to see first hand the physical and emotional benefits horse riding provides.

In 2019, Louise qualified for the RDA Nationals in dressage, and was placed 4th out of 100’s of riders, on the wonderful Amber. A special horse with the capacity to understand when to be gentle, who brings so much joy and giggles to her riders and volunteers alike, Amber is one of the most used and respected horses at the stables and is loved by many.

Unfortunately Amber has fallen foul of an injury which required surgery. The RDA fundraiser covered the cost of her operation, but she still needs extensive rehabilitation and medical care.

Knowing what she means to Louise, me and everyone at Digswell Place RDA, I am competing in the Nuclear Rush Obstacle Course 12k. A challenging race physically and mentally, I will be pushing myself to complete this on 10th May, to raise funds for this marvellous charity and the amazing Amber.
