Raising money to study in America

Hello!

I'm Suyla Polat, a 19-year-old classical guitarist from Turkey. I'm currently in my last year of high school at the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, and it is finally time for me to go to university.

Reason for this fundraising:

I want to go to America to do a double major in environmental biology and music performance, but unfortunately, costs are very high and the schools can't provide a high enough scholarship. At the moment, I need at least 10.000 dollars to attend the schools I've applied to as well as help take care of visa applications and health insurance.

Music and biology have always been my passions from a young age, and I have always wanted to work with animals and the environment. Hopefully, with your help, I can pursue a career in both of these subjects and work on making the world a better place by doing research and using music to bring awareness to our dying ecosystems.

More about me:

I was born in Turkey in 2005 and started playing the guitar at the age of 4. I was always very interested in bugs and marine life, as well as sailing. It was a childhood dream of mine to become both a concert guitarist and a marine biologist.

For the past three years, I have been attending the Yehudi Menuhin School with a 95% scholarship and finished A levels in music, biology, and Turkish. Before that, I was studying at Bilkent Music and Performance Arts High School.

The reason I'm applying to America is because finding schools in Europe that have double majors in music and biology has been so hard for me. Even then, most schools don't adjust the workload for the requirements of these two subjects, making it very hard to study both. Hopefully, in the future, it will be easier for students like me to find the courses they wish to study in Europe, but as of now, it seems unlikely.
