Hi, my name is Graham, and I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask others for help. But a few days ago, my motorbike was stolen right from outside my home in Ruddington by a group of youths who’ve been causing ongoing trouble in the area. Many local residents will know exactly who I’m talking about – they’ve been seen speeding around on e-bikes and stolen bikes, creating problems in our otherwise peaceful village.

This motorbike wasn’t just a luxury – it was a lifeline. I have bad knees and some long-term health issues, and getting around on a pushbike was becoming more and more difficult. I worked hard and saved for a long time to afford this motorbike, which made a huge difference to my independence and quality of life.

Although I had insurance, the excess is a steep £1,165, and the company is valuing the bike at far less than the £2,800 I paid for it, and that same motorbike is no longer available .I’ve been left without transport and with no realistic way to cover the gap.

If you know me, you’ll know how much I valued that bike — not just as a way to get around, but as a bit of freedom. It’s upsetting to see something I worked so hard for taken away in an instant, especially knowing the people responsible are still out there.

I’m asking – reluctantly – if anyone is able to chip in anything at all to help me replace the bike. Even a few pounds would mean the world and bring me a step closer to getting back on the road.
