Raising Money to pay for Ruth's Medical Bills

Hi,

My name is Ruth Creamer and once again, I am asking for donations to help cover my medical bills. It never feels easy to ask for money, especially during these hard times in which so many people, communities and businesses need support.

But, my husband and I are calling on all of our connections for help. 

What this money will be used for:

-past due medical bills

-copays for appointments and prescriptions 

-any out of pocket payments for supplements and other support 

-fuel for long trips to Brigham Women’s in Boston 

-acupuncture and other alternative therapies 

-labs and other evaluations that aren’t fully covered by insurance 

Briefest history about my health:

I've had chronic health issues since 2014 with what started off to be Lyme disease and I had developed other issues since like Epstein Barr virus, various overgrowths in my gut, chronic fatigue, increased anxiety and depression, other tick-borne illnesses, PTSD, long haul covid, POTS/ dyautonomia and mold toxicity. There has been a lot of healing over the years, but it takes time. Healing has not been linear and any life stress (which I’ve had a lot of over those years) affects my health. 

Once upon a time, I was a gardener and farmed. I did lead a “normal” life, and was a very strong person. But, chronic illness changed a lot for me in how I live my life. I have a tremendous amount of faith and hope in finding increased amounts of health and healing. Even though it’s been a long time, this is temporary. 

And then in 2022-winter 2023

Last year, I went into a HUGE mental/ emotional and physical crisis. I was hospitalized for a few days and flew in and out of the ER at least 6 or 7 times. I was near to the point of dying and I honestly felt like dying most days for a while because my symptoms were SO severe. I couldn't walk, bathe or feed myself. Sometimes I couldn't even speak. I felt like I wasn't going to get better and none of the specialists and doctors I was seeing could figure me out. However, I did jump on the road to recovery which was honestly the most humbling gift I could ever have been given in my life. My husband, Robin, and I were able to move home from living with my mother for 4 months during this time period, and I grew stronger and stronger. AND i was getting answers. Finally. I was severely hyper thyroid, lyme and all of the pathogens flared up,  long haul covid, systemic candida, mold toxicity, and POTS/ dyautonomia (aka autonomic nervous system dysfunction). I found some really great doctors and specialists who heard me and could treat me with care. I was able to take some really helpful medications and supplements too. I currently see an acupuncturist, receive energy medicine sessions, and have many other amazing helpers. Unfortunately, I did come out of this crisis with PTSD which has been hard and also improving over time.

The truth of the matter is that I still am unable to work. We are a single income household. The cost of living itself is a lot and my health expenses are overwhelmingly high. I have applied for disability via the SSA.   the process to get disability may take as much as 7 months or even longer. We are not eligible for other government assistance either unfortunately despite our high expenses. I have to be officially deemed disabled by the government to receive the assistance such as food stamps or fuel assistance and I also can’t get emergency aid. 

I still require very regular doctor's appointments and some of which are at Brigham Women's in Boston. All of this has been a lot to pay for on top of our normal expenses. 

So, we are humbly and bravely asking for help.  I appreciate everyone who donated in previous years and truly I wish that I didn't have to ask some of you again!  But, whatever you can give even if it's $1. We would so deeply appreciate it to cover medical expenses. 

Other ways to help would be sharing this fundraiser on social media and to your contacts. Sometimes I need rides to and from appointments. We also feel we need help at times with yard work or inside chores. So, please consider us if you are willing and able.
