My beloved dog Miles passed away last week. He was my best friend and companion for the past 10 years and I am so heartbroken. Miles suddenly became ill with a respiratory illness and I took him to an urgent care hospital. He was hospitalized for 24 hours and sadly passed away.

I would be so thankful for any community help to pay down the medical bills for Miles’ treatments and hospitalization last week and aftercare which cost $5,000. It was pretty costly because he had to be in an oxygen tank to breathe. None of it was covered by insurance. I couldn’t afford it and had to charge everything on a credit card.

I’m already in a lot of debt from paying for Miles’ medical bills and medications this past year. Miles had a disease called Cushing’s disease which required expensive vet appointments, frequent testing and costly medications to diagnose and treat the disease over the past year. I had pet insurance but it maxed out early this year because the tests and treatments were so costly.
