Raising money to help restore the home
Donation protected
Hi my name is Sharon Bryant and I am raising money for Stephney Gort in order to help her restore her home after her home was flooded.
my cousin Stephney Gort (38) and her beautiful girls home took a big hit. She has three of the most loving, understanding, and resilient girls, Jay (17), Paiden (14) and KJ (11).
Their home was flooded right after dark. A pipe bursted in her eldest daughter ‘s up stairs bedroom . The incident has put the family in a dire financial situation and has placed an extreme hardship on the family. They actually made a year in their “forever home” this past September. With the purchase of a new home, insurance is mandatory to cover unforeseen accidents and structural damages that may occur. The amount that the insurance is willing to pay out is not enough to cover a third of the damages that the home has sustained. Because the main cause of the damage is flooding the insurance will only cover building structure up to 10,000 to include furnishings contents and rebuilding of the interior structures. The 10,000 policy was exhausted plus an additional 7,000 bill added after Serve Pro finished their services and along with a 1,400 electric they left the family with, also.
My heart hurts for them because they’ve lost so much and incurred severe damage to the home. This incident has affected the kids severely. Such as emotionally, how they get to school and being productive without worrying how they will be fed and kept warm. They’ve had to and still live in and out of hotels. Which of course this is a further strain financially on them. As a single mom she’s exhausted financially money wise from trying to handle everything for her and the children.
It’s been an uphill battle & Stephney has worked super hard to give her girls nothing but the best and this has happened. Most of their belongings were ruined. Their home has major interior damage. The electricity, plumbing, falling ceilings, wet walls, soaked carpet, damaged appliances, damaged furniture and wet flooring is what they are facing after the bursting of the pipes.
As a family we are grateful that they are OK! But this is a hard set back for them and her as a single mother. She has been unable to work because her home is damaged and she works from home. This has become overwhelming and it’s a huge expense financially, emotionally, physically, mentally. It takes alot of time, money, energy to be a “provider”.
This is so disheartening especially when we are approaching the holidays. I’m asking if you can help please assist. Nothing is too small. Whether giving money, supplies to rebuild their home or offering to have hands on with the rebuilding, all is welcomed. They have a 5 bedroom and 4 bathroom home. They also have 2 in home cats.
All funds will help replace items damaged incurred from the flood. Such as, living room, bedroom, dining room furniture, clothing, shoes, building materials and much more.
We are setting up a Go Fund me if anyone would like to help them out! Thank you for your prayers for them. It’s going to be ok Stephney and girls, I promise!! God is in control & your lives are in His hands!
If you are unable to donate please offer your kind words, advice, and/or prayer for my family.
Thank you in advance.
♥️ With Love Our Family.
