Hello

My name is Louise and I would like to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK in memory of my beautiful friend David Chipp who heart breakingly lost his life from Covid on 3rd Feb 2021. He was 37 years old.

David suffered with MD however did not let it stop him!! He had a fantastic education, went to uni, became a teacher then later on, a college lecturer at Kidderminster College teaching games development (he worked from home right through to the point he contracted covid) and did a time as one of the members of the board at the college. In his spare time too, he was a magistrate. AND on top of all his professional life, he had an amazing social life, was well travelled, love a random adventure (profile photo shows us on a train trip to Selfridges!) adored going to gigs, watching sport, going to the cinema and of course, his computer games!! Top Gun was his favourite film which I endlessly mocked him for! Oh and he was a sucker for Kelly Brook

I was blessed enough to know Dave 20 years, and over that time I saw him go from a manual wheel chair to an electric one, have more adaptions to make his life more comfortable and sadly saw him deteriorate. He struggled with his wheelchair and finally had a customised ‘beast’ made last year so he’d be more comfortable and also he had endless issues with the various carers he had...he was a rare case as he worked full time so had a schedule that I guess a lot of people in his situation may not have had so this did cause him endless grief.

He never ever let it stop him and really did live his life for every day. We only had a few conversations about his condition; he was my lovely friend Dave who I’d meet for dinner, chat to all the time on WhatsApp, go over to his for a cup of tea, have over for my special Greek cooking and go off on our silly adventures (Spice Girls 2019!)

I miss him terribly, his sense of humour and spirit were unique and as he would always be on the receiving end of so many of my ‘what I’ve been up to’ messages and pictures that I’d send...especially of each other’s gardens...I’d keep him posted on all that I was doing in the garden and last summer when he was at home so much, he’d send them back and he always loved the sunshine...so much so I told him off last summer for getting sun burnt!! Wear sun cream dude!!!

However, I would like to raise money for others with the same debilitating condition, he was blessed to have the attitude and resources he did to have as good as life as he could and I know others may not be as fortunate...so please help me in raising money in memory of my amazing, inspirational, wonderful and absolutely hilarious friend, Dave ❤️ Taken far too soon, he had years left in him and I hope to carry on his story in his absence.
