I’m taking on the challenge of running Manchester half marathon to raise money for Tuberous Sclerosis Association.

At only 3 months old, after what I can only describe as the worst 2 weeks of our life, we received the news that our gorgeous baby girl has a rare genetic condition called Tuberous sclerosis, polycystic kidney disease & epilepsy.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare genetic disease that causes tumors to grow in multiple organs, most commonly the brain, kidneys, heart, lungs, eyes, and skin.

Ari is/will be under multiple specialists and have medication for the rest of her life, to help manage the condition & her epilepsy.

We went from living a ‘normal day’, to spending the next day in critical care, learning how to administer medication multiple times a day & use specialised equipment. A reminder to always trust your gut & advocate for what you know is right. Hold your loved ones that little bit closer & be kind to each other, as you never really know what someone is going through.

The tuberous sclerosis association’s overarching aim is to provide help for today and a cure for tomorrow, by:

-Making a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of people living with TSC and their families and carers.

-Leading research into tools, technologies and treatments which eliminate or reduce the effects of TSC.

-Leading innovation in the integration of medical and social care services.

This is now a charity very close to our heart! If you're able to donate,no matter how small, it would mean a lot and will go towards helping TSA continue their amazing work.

Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and motivation along the way!
