23 million girls in India drop out of school each year when their period starts on top of 120 million women and girls that have no access to proper menstrual hygiene at all
The She Can Foundation provides support and resources to women in communities across the globe to provide support to keep women in education during menstruation. Besides the lack of sanitation kits there is a large stigma around menstruation which is a huge cultural barrier itself which the foundation works to tackle.
For many people in the West, we take for granted the opportunities we all have and forget to think that this isn't the case in other countries around the world. Education is one of those overlooked things.
Education is a structure in society which many of the benefits we simply don't make the link between, your phone is a result of education, the house you live in with warm water, the fridge you keep your food in are all results of someone with good education making something that we all reap the benefits from on a daily basis.
More specifically these are all things we have as a result of Indian women having access to education.

I've decided to do 10,000m everyday for the month of May and documenting the journey on my Instagram page (@jjoedowd). For anyone that wants to join me, donate or share and raise awareness can do so there.
As the She Can Foundation is an Indian Charity typical donations from British persons (in GBP / Pound Sterling) will have an impact of about 4-5x greater. This means a £50 donation is worth about £200-250 in local purchasing power.
£5 keeps 6 girls in education for 1 month
£10 = 12 girls in education for 1 month
£20 = a classroom full of girls in education for 1 month
