Lacey was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in January 2020. After going through many chemotherapy treatments as well as radiation treatments, in June of 2020 she underwent surgery to remove the cancer which left her with an ileostomy bag for 10 months, she was able to get the bag reversed in March of 2021.
After the battle she had started feeling better and was starting to be able to enjoy life with her kids and family again and thought her battle was almost over. In July of 2021 she was in a lot of pain and very sick and her family pushed her to go into the hospital where she found out her right kidney was barely functioning and needed to have a stent put in to save the kidney, after some more tests she received the news nobody wants to hear for the second time.. “you have stage 4 cancer again, but this time it’s also on your right ovary” She’s currently doing chemotherapy treatments again and waiting to hear from the surgeons at mount Sinai hospital.
Now let me tell you a little about my friends Lacey Norris & Chris Norris! These two have hearts of gold, they would give you the shirt off their back, not only are they the parents to these 3 beautiful girls, they are basically cousins or siblings to just about every friend they have, they always go above and beyond for anyone,
When I found out Lacey had cancer and was in pain and struggling during the pandemic to get the help she needed medically (cancelled appointments, pushed back surgeries, I cried, I prayed. To watch any of your friends go through this is so hurtful, like why?! Why did they deserve this hand to be dealt to them when they’re so young? When they have kids.. I’ll never know and it happens all too often:(
But to watch our buddy every time we see him get emotional, break down.. just talking about her and what she continues to go through is just heartbreaking, it’s hard for him to work much or be away from the house, Incase she needs him. I’ve decided to start a fundraiser for them.
