Raising Money for my Mom’s medical expenses.
2020 has seriously been the shitiest year for most of us but this past weekend was the hardest thing we’ve had to go through as a family. I didn’t want to post any of this at first but I feel like we need to warn others of the dangers of drunk driving. Its seriously not a joke. Not only do you risk your own life but you risk ruining & killing other innocent lives.
Sep 5th 2020 really traumatized us as a family. On Saturday night in Laughlin NV my mother & family were hit by a drunk driver in a red Nissan Rogue, she was going 100mhp on a two way road. On a right hand turn she drove in the middle of the road before hitting my family. In one splitsecond my dad in the passanger seat reacted so fast and warned my uncle who was driving & they swerved to try to escape the hit head on. However the whole driver’s side of the Van they were in was completely torn to shreds. The left side in themiddle where my mom was sitting got hitthe worst. My mother took the biggest hit. She got a huge cut/gash in her left arm we all thought her arm was cut off or broken. They had to use the jaws of life to cut her out.
She lost so much blood when the rest of us arrived at the scene we were terrified because she was trapped in the Van and lost so much blood. We thought the worst. My brothers thought she was dead until they heard her say “Is everyone elseok” my mother is a True Warrior!!! She has glass from the window all over her face and body. She had to get multiple sitches on her face. She’s lucky the air bags didnt break her nose.
A literal bad ass beyond compare. She was worried about everyone else except herself. She kept reassuring us instead of panicking or screaming. She held it down for the rest of us who couldn’t stop crying.
My mother didn’t deserve this. No one does. At the moment my mother was transferred from the Laughlin medical center to the Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas because her gash in her arm was so deep she needed a plastic surgeon to repair the damage. The surgeon has told us she’s going to need multiple surgeries to get her arm to be fully functional however she didn’t lose it thank god. She’s just worried about her medical expenses because she has a big co-pay. So if anyone wouldn’t mind sharing my mother’s story. & hopefully it will touch a few of you. Anything helps. &we really appreciate all the love amd support we have been receiving. Its very hard for us as a family to ever ask for help or talk about ourselves in these sort of situations. We don’t like to tell ppl our problems but this nightmare is no where near over. The crazy part is the drunk girl who was driving left the scene without a scratch ofcourse.
I was on the phone with my mom during thw whole accident I heard the screams, I heard the crash, I heard everything. My mom literally kept asking for everyone else except herself. Imagine how I felt hearing all of this go down. It was insane.
God has really looked over my family & we’re thankful my mother our rock & foundation of my family is still here & alive with us. Life is so precious never take it for granted. A single second things can change forever. Please don’t drive drunk.
