Raising money for my first solo art exhibition
Donation protected
Do you know why the De Medici's are remembered today? They are remembered because they gave money to artists.
Hi, my name is Deon Maas and I am hoping to have my first solo art exhibition from 14 June 2025 at the Breytenbach Galery in Wellington. This exhibition will be dealing with South Africa's apartheid past and will be called Ou Koeie (old cows). It is both a historical look as well as a personal journey. Once this exhibition has happened it will (hopefully) be easier for me to apply for EU grant funding.
I have been working on the exhibition for the past two years. This means two years of no income and expenses for art materials and I have come to the end of my savings.
I am now raising money to help me pay for the framing of the thirty or so art pieces that will form the exhibition.
To do this, I am selling one-off artists proofs of two lino prints in various colours. These prints will never be available in any commercial form in the future. The copies you see here, will be the only ones ever produced. They are the standard size 30x24 which means framing is easy. They are printed on 115g acid-free paper with water-based Schmincke ink, which means you can leave it to the kids in your will.
They sell for 100 Euros each. These prints are respectively called "Kabouter" and "Discontent". I am sure you can figure out which is which. Once you have made your donation, please email me with your colur preference and print preference and I will put it aside for you. These prints will be posted to you by the end of June 2025, unless you make other arrangements.
Angel investments of smaller (or larger amounts) without wanting a print are also welcomed ;)
