We are raising money for Mike Bracey's Cancer treatments.
Mike is only 62 years old and has been diagnosed with Small Cell Carcinoma Lung Cancer, Limbic Encephalitis with Paraneoplastic Syndrome. The doctors believe they can beat the Cancer as long as he gets his Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments. (His family may have to pay for a portion if not all of the radiation out of pocket due to insurance red tape.)
Unfortunately, the limbic encephalitis with the paraneoplastic syndrome is harder to treat and has caused his memory to degrade. He has good days where he can remember 15 minutes at a time and bad days where he can remember 3 - 5 minutes at a time. He is currently having a minimum of 22 seizures a day.
His insurance is over $2000 per month now that he is no longer able to work and his wife is his sole caretaker and is unable to work while caring for him. He can not be left alone for any length of time.
His family is working very hard to pay for all that he needs but is running out of funds for his daily care and needs help. (They have depleted their savings and cashed in all of their retirement funds) We are hoping for at least $10.000.00 to pay for insurance for the next few months until he is able to get a disability decision. If we are able to raise more that will pay for any out of pocket medications, uncovered treatment costs, electricity, and food.
