Goal Reached - Thank You Everyyone!

Hello, my name is Vicki. I run a small drama group called Melting Pot, for Down syndrome and other special needs students. The group was founded in 2007 by my mum Sue, and Matthew was one of her first students and has been with us ever since.

Matthew, who was born Down syndrome, was an amazing human being inside and out, he brought so much joy to peoples lives, showing kindness to everyone he met. He was an inspiration, performing in shows twice a year, his singing, dancing and acting was incredible and he didn’t shy away from being himself on that stage.

Not only was he an incredible performer, but he was an incredible friend, and more importantly son to his father Des. And in Des’s words “I have had a very hard, hurtful life but when Matthew came into my life he showed me what unconditional love really means and I was blessed to have had 37 years of love from my son Matthew and it was the most purest love I have ever experienced”

Des raised Matthew single handedly his entire life, he is struggling to raise funds for his funeral to give Matthew the send off he deserves. At drama we have already raised £500 towards the cost and will be adding this to this go fund me, but we would still love to try and raise some more to support Des.

Matthew really was the kindest and purest soul and his death has shocked and upset his community and friends deeply. We are all heartbroken and would be grateful for any donation big or small.
