My 14 year old daughter has been at a residential facility to address the emotional and behavioral issues she's been struggling with for the last 3 years. The facility, and more specifically the therapist she was matched with, focuses on DBT (vs CBT) which has been shown to be the most effective therapy to address PTSD, sexual trauma as well as potential emerging borderline personality disorder behavior. They originally thought she would be there about 10 weeks but unfortunately her trauma and anger are so much deeper than had been expected so it's looking like it will be a longer process and she will also need to go to an educational therapeutic facility for a couple of months after her time in this program.

This facility is tremendously expensive and all but $400 has fallen on me.  I also had to spend $35k in legal fees  just to get my daughter away from the dangerous situations she was being exposed to.  I have had to borrow money from friends and family to get her to safety.  I need help or I won't be able to keep her in the facility long enough to make sure she's gotten to a good, stable place.  Last week her therapist said that without this level of intervention, she does not believe my daughter would have made it to adulthood, her behaviors were becoming more and more risky and dangerous.
