Raising money for homeless girls in Ethiopia

Many girls that, like my girls when I first met them, don’t have the freedom to do basic things we take for granted. Only 1 in 3 girls goes to school in Ethiopia. Many are married off at a young age (this would have happened to my oldest daughter, but circumstances stopped it). Girls live in fear to go anywhere, including school, because rape is so common. Girls around the world often lack some of the basic human rights we take for granted.

 

I look at my kids and see how much potential is in them, and how those things would have gone buried if circumstances had been different. I want to continue to help fight this injustice for other girls, and commit my race at the World Championships to girls living on the streets in Ethiopia getting a new start at life.
