Raising money for Edinburgh Royal ICU ward 118
On January 16th 2018, after being admitted to FVRH on December 23rd 2017, I was admitted into Intensive care in Falkirk. I stayed here until I was stable enough to be transported by blue light ambulance and a police escort to Edinburgh royal infirmary ICU ward 118.
I remained here until The middle of March meaning in total I was intubated and on life support for a total of 56 days. These incredible people saved my life on a number of occasions where it seemed impossible. I will never ever be able to repay what these people done for me and my loved ones but now is the time to give something back.
After my Illness which lead into contracting sepsis I have had to learn to walk again. Whilst still using crutches over a year since getting out of hospital my physical health is rapidly improving.
To try raise funds for this amazing ward and it’s staff I am going to cycle 10km a day (on a gym bike) for a total of 56 days (the amount of time spent on life The equivalent of Falkirk > London.
After spending 6 months in total in hospital I know this in no way repays the care and love I received but it’s a start!
From the bottom of my heart I thank you for even reading this, never mind donating. A donation will go towards making the poor souls in this wards life that little bit easier by possibly buying televisions etc. When I was in there were only 2 television sets for 28 beds and with myself being in isolation, one was kept in my room.
