Raising money for dementia research and care
On the 9th of August I will run/walk roughly 62 miles(100km) from Stratford east London, to Kingsclere, Newbury in memory of my father on what should have been his 81st birthday. Dementia is a disease that unfortunately has had a massive impact on my life and childhood, and my family is just one of
millions that are impacted by the disease globally. When I was 13 years old I lost my father to dementia, something that changed my life forever. For those of you who know me, I tend to laugh it off and treat it in a very light hearted matter, however it has never been and will never be as easy as it might come across. To grow up without my dad , and having to see what the disease did to the most important man in my life at such a young age leaves unrepairable damage that only those who know what it’s like can truly understand. Seeing the impact it has had on my close family and having to share the pain with my twin sister gives me even more motivation to show how strong the human mind and soul can be in the aftermath of tragedy. I will start in Stratford , where my father Alan was born and end in Kingsclere where he rests now. I know he will be proud ❤️
