Hi, my name is Melissa, owner of Cujo.

For the past couple months Cujo has been very sick. I’ve been taking him back & forth to the vet for Anemia. We ran multiple blood test, his organs, everything you can name of. Something was eating at Cujo’s red blood cells, causing them to drop significantly low, along with his platelet count. My vet (which I’ll never go back too) should have done something about this much sooner (I got a second opinion). We did a blood transfusion last night because Doctor didn’t think cujo was going to make it through the weekend. I was up all night so worried about him. I got a call this morning saying cujo was doing much better, he was starting to get color back in his gums & skin. Then he started getting anemic again. So doctor ran an X-Ray to find out that cujo had ate something that it looked like metal in his abdomen. All the money, all the medication, over night stay, giving him b-12 shot through the neck could have been prevented if his vet had just ran an X-ray a month ago. Today we took him to a specialist, who thinks cujo did swallow something but it’s not metal, it looks more like a mass Monday they will be doing a ultrasound to get to the bottom of that. So we can’t rule out cancer just yet.. But that’s not what is causing cujo to bleed. They confirmed that cujo has more underlying problems, they think he is bleeding from his GI. Cujo is admitted to the hospital until Monday, they are doing ANOTHER blood transfusion cause he’s bleeding internally so bad. He’s on heavy doses of multiple different medications.

 

I’m not one to ask the public or people for anything!!! But this is my baby, he’s family, we rescued him from North Dakota, he was abandoned.. he doesn’t deserve this. I’ve used up all my care credit & wiped my bank account doing pointless test at our local vet, that we’re financially strapped. We have a 2 year old & recently on the 27th just had a newborn baby.. so times are definitely hard right now. His bill is anywhere from $2,400 to $3500 and that’s not including if they determine if he needs surgery Monday or not. I have all the vet statements & information if anybody wants to see it.
